Nothing...

What a perfect ending to a wonderful 18 month series!  Romans 8:38-29:

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a] neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.

Be encouraged,

Becky

  2. Thank you Becky for extending the calls for this course as you did.
I'm blessed to say when I signed up (and God provided me the chance to do so in a miraculous way), I didnt think I would ever make it. I was just sure I wasnt going to read every single day. But thanks to Him and the rich experiences shared in the group, I made it. Haven't missed a day.
What a blessing........see you all on this blog.

  3. That's wonderful, Laura. You have been faithful in reading and in sharing your insights, struggles, and triumphs with us over these last 18 months; you are an inspiration to me.

Becky, I too want to thank you for extending this session for another six months. You are an amazing person, and God has blessed you with a sweet spirit and wonderful gifts of sharing personal stories of God's love and the life-changing power of prayer. I'm so glad that God brought you and the other members of this group into my life.

I'm sorry that I have not participated as fully in 2012 as in previous months, and I admit that sometimes during the spring semester I found myself rushing through the readings. This summer God has really been speaking to my heart through the daily readings. Over and over I have read about the blessings and power of the leaders who "followed the Lord with all their heart"; I've also seen what happened to those who tried to do things their own way. I was especially struck by the passage from 2 Chronicles today when Azariah spoke to King Asa, saying, "Listen . . . The Lord will stay with you as long as you stay with him! Whenever you seek him, you will find him. But if you abandon him, he will abandon you. . . . Whenever they were in trouble and turned to the Lord, the God of Israel, and sought him out, they found him." What better way to seek and find Him than to begin each day with prayer, Bible reading, and journaling? It has certainly made a difference this summer, and I am promising to continue through the next school year!

Have a good night, everyone! See you on the blog!

  5. I also want to thank you for extending the course. I will miss listening in later, but will be checking the blog for insight. I enjoy reading everyone's thoughts and prayers. I am also challenged with making my quiet time less of a duty and a time of drawing close to our Redeemer and hearing his voice. God's blessings on you all this week.

  6. Dear CYL friends,

I don't know if any of you are checking this blog or not, but I want to pass along a note I sent to my friends and relatives last night concerning my precious little cat. I believe God hears and answers prayers for our little furry friends, and I've certainly been sending up lots of them for my fur babies lately. Here's the note I sent to family and friends last night. If you happen to read it, please keep Sylvan and his sister Maggie in your prayers. Thanks so much!

Just wanted to let you know that Sylvan will undergo a procedure called
a "vitreous centesis" at Eye Care for Animals in Annapolis tomorrow
morning at 11 a.m. At 20 years and 5 months, he is pretty old for
surgery, but the ophthalmologist feels it must be done if he is going
    to have
any quality of life. She will insert a
needle in his right eye and draw out the fluids, thereby virtually
"killing the eye" (her words). After having a large hemorrhage in his
left eye in December, he somehow managed to incur an even bigger one
(known as an "8-ball hyphema" or "total hyphema") last week. His eye is
filled with blood, the pressure making it very painful.

As you can imagine, I was very uneasy about the surgery at first, but
after talking with the ophthalmologist, my regular vet, and one of my
closest friends, as well as putting him on our church prayer list, I'm
hopeful that he will have another chance at a fairly comfortable life.
The vet says that the procedure itself should take only five or ten
minutes; of course, with the anesthesia he will be there for about four
hours. Little Maggie has been such a good little sister--watching out
for him, washing his head, and staying close beside him every day, and
I know she wants to keep her brother around for a while longer.

Please keep us all in your prayers.

    Thank you!

    Wanda
