Being Faithful...

Over and over, I am reminded that those who are successful are consistent. They plan ahead. They wisely conserve. They wait in expectation. They do not fatigue. They are faithful in small things. They are faithful in big things.

This week, we see the intricacies of God--the planner of the tabernacle, with great detail. We see a lamp that He desires is lit all day, every day. We see the teachings of Jesus and His message to plan ahead, stay the course, don't get side-tracked...

As you read the Bible daily, you are chasing after God. You are sitting at His feet. You are letting His Spirit soak into you.

Be encouraged,

Becky

  1. Week 6: 7 0f 7 and 42 of 42

Thank you for the reminder Becky to conserve yet be consistent. These words are encouraging.

Matthew corresponds to what my Sunday Bible Group is seriously studying. The words from Matthew 26:39 resonate: ..."Yet not as I will, but as you will."

Of course, not coincidentally, the words from Exodus 23:13 keep me grounded to be careful to do everything God has set out for me to do. Combined, I have been given careful guidance.

Thank you for helping me keep my light on for God and for others around me, including those in this group. May you enjoy a very blessed week with your faith, family, and friends.

  2. Hi All: I'm 7 for y this week, 42 for 42 days!
I was especially convicted this week by this verse in Psalms:
    8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you and watch over you.
    Psalms 32:7-8 (NIV)

I certainly have a lot to work on, but I am doing better at letting Him decide what I should do every day, where I should go, where I should serve etc. The daily reading is certainly proving to be a real factor for change in my Christian walk. I'm still so grateful for this group.
    Have a blessed Sunday.

  3. Good Evening:

I am 7/7. This group has been the accountability I needed to stay in God's word through the weekends. In past years, I never quite got to my daily quiet time with God on Saturdays or Sundays. I have made it a priority this year with the help of this group. Thank you.

This has been a rough week. My Aunt who will be 85 in May had a stroke a week ago. It is a bad one and we are just waiting for the call. I didn't grow up in a Christian home, but my Aunt took me to church and faithfully prayed for my salvation. In 1999 God answered her prayer and I professed my faith in Jesus and was baptized. During this week, God has given me hope. He told me in Psalm 30 that he will take away my mourning and in Psalm 31 in speaks of lavishing his love and goodness on me. I just love that word lavish. Doesn't it bring a wonderful picture to your mind of just being immersed in God's love and goodness?

God also said to me that he still meets with his people today. In the OT reading on February 9th I wrote this in my journal:

"Place the incense altar just outside the inner curtain that shields the Ark of the Covenant, in front of the Ark's cover--the place of atonement--that covers the tablet inscribed with the terms of the covenant. I will meet with you there." Exodus 30:6

This little humble couch is my santuary to you. This is where you meet me every morning. This is where I can hear your voice to me through your Word, the Bible. This is where you speak to my heart and encourage me to go through another day. This is where you give me my strength. It is a long way from the days of Moses and the Ark of the Covenant, but you are still meeting with your people.

As I finished out the week, my Aunt had a suprising good day on Saturday after we thought that Friday she would be leaving this world to be with her savior. God is still meeting me where I am and he has placed a ministry on my heart to meet the young adults in my community where they are. I ask for prayers of discernment to see where God is working so that I may join him.

May you all have a blessed week!

  4. Hello all, The last 3 weeks I have been on 8 planes and who knows how many different beds. The one consistent thing is my daily prayer and bible reading. God has met me daily with his direction and wisdom and his unfailing love. Last Friday I came home to my beloved cat dead, my trusted bible study leader telling us she had T4 inoperable lung cancer (she told this to us with Joy and conviction that God was using her for his greater purpose), my best friend's son having to be on bed rest for a brain injury, dishwasher overflowed while gone and ruined the hardwood floors, my house keeper medical issues and some other situations. I felt 2 things on that day: grief and a overwhelming sense that God was in control and he was going to see us through all of it bringing Glory to himself. As Becky said, let His Spirit soak into us. Today: Matthew: I will be with you always. Great Promise.
I am hoping to be home and near a computer, I have missed reading this blog as it is very uplifting and keeps me with like minds.

  5. I put this in 2 posts for protection of loss.
Pam: I was reminded of keeping the main thing the main thing. Set out to do what God has set out, thank you for that reminder.
Laura: Ps 32 played a part this week for me also, My brother needed a sum of $ and I wanted to do what God wanted and get me out of the picture. I didn't want to give him any money but hadn't heard from God what he wanted me to do before I boarded the plane, so I put the $ in my purse and headed out. I wanted to tell my brother what to do and God said, be quiet. At the end he sold something he had posted on ebay for 30 days and got the $ he needed. God instructed! Trust and obey for there is no other way. Amen Laura, you have been in my prayers.
Lorraine: The thought of being immersed in God's love and goodness brings such HOPE. Lord, may you give Lorraine discernment on her next step in the journey with you. Lavish her with your love and goodness. Amen
