A Different Attitude

Numbers 14: 24, "But my servant Caleb has a different attitude than the others have. He has remained loyal to me, so I will bring him in the land he explored. His descendants will possess their full share of that land."

Do you have a Caleb attitude? I strive for it; I press toward it. I know God will honor that kind of attitude--oh, but is so hard to wait? Yes?

Be encouraged (to be a Caleb),

Becky

  2. Wow, I missed that. On that day, I was struck by "They know that you go before them in the pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night" Numbers 14:14 With the question for me, do others see my God guiding my life?
Looking forward to the call, such a good reminder of things to strive for. Almost like a catchy phrase to pull me back in where I want to be: Caleb=a attitude pleasing to God.
I include all of you in my daily prayers. Just a little update:
Week with son in Vermont went well.
Week with Mother had some sweet moments.
Came home early for a memorial service of a fellow bible study friend.
Husband had some heart concerns which led to some answer to prayers to make changes that help his health. (eat right, exercise, no coffee or alcohol). Although, there are challenges with my husbands illness, I have joy in my life, knowing God is sovereign.
In all of these situations God has gone before me preparing me with a Caleb attitude.
My son is home on spring break a very happy camper.
Glad to be back posting, miss all of you.

  3. Thank you Becky for being such an encourager of reading the bible. Numbers is a perfect example of why not skip over passages that seem non relevant. I missed both the blessing and Caleb's attitude in Numbers.

  4. I just listened to the call. I love the "Caleb attitude". I missed that in my reading that day but 14:8 caught my attention: "If the LORD delights in us, then he will bring us into this land and give it to us, 'a land which flows with milk and honey.'" My thoughts for that day went something like this: It is so easy to live in the flesh and be like the fearful, faithless Israelites, or like James and John and want special treatment. When I feel something is too large for me, I need to give it over to God be it work, relationships or ministry. I am not in control; I just think I am. Remind me daily that Jesus suffered and died to pay the price for my sins. He came to earth to die. Does that truth pierce my heart and bring tears to my eyes to live a better life for Him? If it doesn’t, it should.
Becky, you said write down what God says to you. That brought to my memory that years ago when my daughter was in high school and crossing that line, I was on my knees constantly. God told me that he has mighty plans for her. I can still remember that night and God brings it to my mind when I am at my lowest. Now when that comes to my mind I will write it down and have the “Caleb attitude” to believe.
Side note: She was home this last week for spring break and we had a wonderful time (the first in years). I believe she still has faith deep in her heart but her outward actions and appearance do not reflect that at the moment. But she has a wonderful boyfriend, whose name is Caleb,  who is having a wonderful influence on her so I will continue to believe. One last thing, can I get prayers for my work place. We are on a small island and a former employee has broken her contract and opened a business and using unethical means to build her business. When I was l praying and thinking about this last night, God reminded me that he knows all this and that He is in control.

  5. Hi All: Another 7/7.
Lorraine, I pray that God will maybe convict that person of their behavior and possibly remedy the situation. I'm also blessed to hear about your time with your daughter! Thanks for sharing that.

Praying with expectation here. We sort of have an exclusive local deal with Living Social (like Groupon). We have sold 106 jobs since Thursday and are praying for (and needing) to hit 200 or a little better. It would greatly help the business situation, and keep us busy for awhile. So thanks for any prayers you can send...our ad runs till Wednesday.
    Have a blessed weekend.
It is supposed to be 74 here today and down to 45 Tuesday. Brrrrrr.
